DEVIL TO PAY - THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER (Benchmark Recs. 2003)

Wow !!! Listening this album while drinking a full bottle of beer is one superb experience. The music of this guys is really rocking and at the same time drug inducing....Heavy yet rocking rhythmic riffs are the essence here with a sort of Black Sabbath feeling and stoner rock sound that are the trademark of Devil To Pay´s music. The songs here are really powerful and at the same time have a certain psychodelic feeling in them which I liked a lot. The vocals are really fitting the music and you can not imagine this type of music with a different type of voice. Eleven memorable songs constitute this album that you can not stop listening until it has ended. The drumming here is really open letting the guitar riffs create the basis of the compositions and adorn them with some melodies that atransport you to desertic lands. A must for lovers of stoner rock and bands like Kyuss.
