Tunics will be ripped, teeth will be gnashed and PBR will be on special. Devil to Pay, Redhorse, Bulletwolf and Devils of Belgrade will bring the noise. This will be a night that will harken back to the days of rock when hairy men ruled the land and didn't allow a single trumpet or xylophone anywhere near. Devil to Pay is always worth the price of admission. The legendary Steve Janiak has an infallible sense of melody that pumps up whatever project he's involved in, and Devil to Pay is no exception. Yeah, the music is as slow and lumbering as Sabbath on ludes, but after a while, sweet angelic melodies that were trapped within reveal themselves, entering into a nice counterpoint with a demonic mountain of sound that rumbles on the surface. RedHorse is probably the one Indianapolis metal band that will make the most noise this year, and it's all because they have one of the best live shows in the city. The front man, Jason Kindred screams and plays the guitar like he is literally trying to suck the life out of every living thing within a five block radius. Add to the mix drummer Dave Dalton, who is always mesmerizing as he pounds the crap out of a Neil Peart-sized drum kit, and you've got the makings of a jaw-dropping rock show. Also on the bill are Bulletwolf and Devils of Belgrade, who will offer more Gibson-worshippin' deliverance-lookin' doomday metal with songs like "Corspeweed" to the party. Not recommended for the faint of heart, babies or Christians.
