Devil To Pay - Fate Is Your Muse
Ripple Music, 2013

Imagine that wears a band in the southern United States that makes stoner, only composes songs as the thermometer 42 degrees Celsius shows and lyrics based on the visions of the other side that the singer had ever when he spent some time in coma was after prolonged and excessive drug use. Do you think you will come close to the sound of Devil To Pay? Hell Yeah!

Admittedly, at first hearing sounds the mid-tempo stoner rock with southern rock influences, especially by stemgeuid, rather boring. In itself it is melodic but also rather flat, and there is little variation in pitch. On closer listening the voice definitely adds something and contribute vocals to the overall picture. Black Black Heart is a good example.

In the first two songs, the atmosphere all good nergezet but in Ten Lizardmen & One Pocket Knife pace is screwed the whole thing is really taking off. Personally I think Devil To Pay stronger in the faster songs, they sound just a little more in their element and that data may best exploit some more. Of course it looks here and there Kyuss but nowhere as long as it is disturbing that they manage to maintain. Their own musical mug

Fate Is Your Muse is a fine album and the perfect soundtrack for nice, balmy summer evenings when the mosquitoes buzzing softly, the beer flows and the sex is in the air.
